ToDo’s
[updated 6/20/2010 - looking at this list it doesn't seem pertinent to my ife at the moment. When last updated I think I was still in the process of applying to the MFA program, I thought I was the shiznit when it came to writing, and I had no idea how much more I would (and have) learned. If I can keep the mental and emotional momentum with this website going I will create a new list that includes new plans, writing, and family and work. As an aside, I think I am going to keep updates (like this) going. History is a good thing. --John]
[updated 4/12/2009 - I decided to mark out some of what I've done. I have a job, still looking for something better. I decided to start applying for things under the premise that I have a Bachelors Degree and nothing else. As a result, it opens up a lot of possibilities.]
I’ve decided to make some of my todo’s public. My initial approach to this was to find a pluggin that allowed me to input some data and then insert a little code into a page and bada-bing, bada-boom a todo list. However, when I did that all I got was a constant error message that proved to be rather annoying as (I am sure) the plugin was not created with the latest version of WordPress in mind as as an extension of that, I was tired of all the error messages whenever I tried to do what was supposed to be simple and easy. With that said, here is my current ToDo List:
- Update Finding Jack Mulvaney according to Erin‘s edits
- Do a John reading and update on Finding Jack Mulvaney
- Write a Personal Statement for college application
- Email some professors for letters of recommendation
- Apply to Master’s of Fine Arts in Writing programs
- Rewrite series of short stories
- Submit short stories to online and print publications
- Decide what long-term writing project (not Finding Jack Mulvaney) I need to work on
- Create an outline
- Write
- Apply for (at least) three jobs a day
- Get a good job
Now you know what I am working on. Feel free to email me to ask how I am doing or call me if you have my number or just ignore me.
–John
