CW :: Cassandra West and the Mage of El Paso

Here’s what started my interest in, and exploration of, Cassandra West. I used this for a creative writing project while as an undergrad. This is how Cassandra finds out who she is and introduces an antagonist AND one of Cassandra’s cohorts. This is the full-length version of the story. It does not require a log-in so enjoy.

CW :: Cassandra West and the Cave of Charles Darwin

Here is the full version (complete with brothel) of the Cassandra West and De-Evolution piece I posted. This one introduces the ape men, evolutionarily advanced apes that are set to take over the world or something equally nefarious. As this is a series of one-shots that connect together, though not chapter to chapter. The stories are meant to interconnect and introduce various personalities that are there to either help Cassandra or hinder her. In truth, there will be (when I get around to playing with it again) a story dealing with The Reverend Bubbha Thomas and her father from The Mage of El Paso and others.

CW :: Cassandra West and De-Evolution

This is (actually) the shortened version of Cassandra West and Charles Darwin wherein Cassandra heads off to a cave and meets up with Charles Darwin. He explains the basics of evolution for Cassandra and then re-enters the cave. Honestly, the version I was looking for included her trip to the brothel and back again and introduced one of the principle antagonistic elements. Anyway, the shorter version is now included and does not require anyone to have a log in.

Eighth and Vine

I just added the story Eighth and Vine, an experimental piece I did for a writing professor a couple of years ago. For the most part, nothing was changed. That professor thought I should take three of the short pieces and submit it somewhere. He didn’t want to suggest which three and as a result, you get the whole piece as I wrote it.

Submission Piece :: Finding Jack Mulvaney

This is the submission piece I did for the Master’s of Fine Arts in Writing that got me in to the program. This piece will require you to have a log in for the website as it is restricted. The piece just stops so… it is by design. This is also what I will (starting in July) be working on for the next two years as I write and revise and work within the MFA-Writing program.
