Quick note on politics…
The government under the auspicous leadership of President Bush, has decided that the only way to save the mortgage industry by collecting nearly a trillion dollars and buying the failing mortgages. Granted, I think that there are probably a lot of people in the world who were caught up under the deceitful practices of mortgage lenders on top of which, for the past ten-plus years people have been told they should and could afford houses (that they couldn’t and shouldn’t afford) that it is not at all surprising that the mortgage market is faltering and falling completely apart.
This is stupid and all it does is tell the people in this country that if you screw up badly enough (listen up banks and lenders and individuals) the government will just bail you out. Congrats.
