Anyone who is unreliable is also a liar; anyone who is a liar is also unreliable.

This doesn’t have much to do with the Chinese New Year

I missed my first class, and second class, this morning. Won’t tell you why; will tell you it had something to do with a lack of sleep and needing a certain amount before I got up, showered, shaved, (did other things) and headed down to Provo, work, and school. When I got here, and sat down in class, I discovered that I was approved for another 8 hours of work per week for the next couple of weeks so we can get closer to getting Gary done with his book. On top of which, after a discussion with him yesterday, I’ve decided to work for him next semester; though the job will not start until mid- to late-January.

Erin and I went to Borders where I picked up a couple of books. One on screenwriting; the other to complete a set of retro-pulp sci-fi novels that I picked up earlier in the semester with the grand plans of reading while I studied, wrote, worked, and did other things. I picked up book one, The Plutonium Blonde, about a week ago and read through several chapters before putting it on the stacks (yes, plural) of books, DVD’s, television shows, etc., that I have sitting around that still need my time and attention. Maybe (though not too likely) I will get to some of them over the Happy Celebration of Christ break while I visit the missionary parents and then fly to Massachusetts for New Years. Personally, was really shooting for a celebration of the Chinese New Year (February 18, 2007), but Erin said we’d probably be in classes and up to here in school related work… so… that is out. Though, if I can swing it, I may have to throw a party.

The stack of things that need my going through is actually rather tall. Well, there are multiple stacks that, combined, would be pretty tall ranging from subjects like screenwriting to storytelling, plot, fairy tales, fiction based off of fairy tales, retro-pulp, real pulp, steampunk, television, Anime, Fox’s 24 seasons 3 and 4, Fox’s Bones season 1. There is a lot more, art stuff, etc., etc., etc. I, honestly, am not entirely certain what is all there as I get, stack, and try to forget as there is only so much time in the day and, at present, that time is being dedicated to other endeavors – and I gotta tell you, I like what is distracting me at the moment.

So, we were at Borders last night working on scenes for screenplays for a class we’re both taking. I started into my avoid work phase of writing, which included a new book on screenwriting (currently in car) and the other book and hot chocolate (I got it with soy milk rather than a dairy product, mmmm), and then sitting down and just writing until someone (Erin) calls time to go and do something else. At that point, we went and did something else. Then I took her home. Then I went to Jared and Emily’s. And, because I’d gone to see James to pick up a snowboard, took snowboard into house. Then dragged my frame downstairs thinking, “No one will wake me up because I’ve left everything where its supposed to be,” and then was woken up way earlier this morning than I wanted to because Jordan Hattaway (full name for Google searches) needed my keys to move my car so he could go and do … uhm … something.

Then I got up, showered, and drove down here not one second before I played hide-and-seek with Cadence. Once that quick game (with a two-year-old, it doesn’t take long) was done I grabbed my stuff, made sure all of my pocket things were actually in my pockets, and then headed to Provo for class and work where I was informed I’d been granted another eight hours of work a week. Exciting. Let me tell you.

Really, all of that was to tell you that I missed my class this morning and probably need to sit down and finish the thoughts I was working on last night and send those to the professors so that they can have them before Monday so that on Monday I can convert what I wrote, last night, into a novel format and read them to the class for the final on Monday because it is the end of the semester and you all wanted to know that.
