Well, I was told the other day that I haven’t bothered to update my blog. I wouldn’t say that this has been neglectful of me, rather it’s one of those situations where I really didn’t know what to say or how to say it. To me, my life seems to have fallen into a state of rapid flux and some days, the days that my life seems to most hectic and when there seem to be things to update are also the days that I have no desire to sit down and write down what is going on. I do spend a bit of time writing in my journal, but the journal was never designed as an open forum and this is an open forum.
Anyway, as an update, I am still living on the east coast. Instead of finding a place in Boston, MA, circumstances caused me to make the decision to remain in New Hampshire with Andy and Debbie. I enrolled in school at Southern New Hampshire University and am taking British Literature from the 16th and 17th centuries and Shakespeare. Amazingly, my first impression of the classes dictate that I will probably enjoy Shakespeare and I will probably struggle through British Lit; the reasons for the internal switch is entirely in the person they got to teach the different courses.
The lady that is teaching British lit acts and speaks as though she thinks she should’ve lived as a contemporary of Shakes and as such should be the person that should ALWAYS teach him to students. Whereas the guy teaching Shakespeare is so down to earth that he actually makes the prospect of reading antiquated plays intriguing. Of course, the number of attractive girls in the Shakespeare class is far greater than those in the British Lit class and that helps.
There is some anxiety in starting school, again. This time, though, I can’t stop until I am done. Even if that means that my nights are dedicated to school for years to come I guess that means I make that investment. No longer will I be relegated to hedging on my edumacation.
Other than that, I started applying for jobs at various local places. For example: Wal-Mart, Sams Club, Home Depot, bookstores, and anywhere else that might work around a school schedule. There are problems associated with this, as well, but you do what you have to do. On the plus side, I do have an interview with Borders books tomorrow at 3 p.m. As I’ve considered this my thoughts go back to a feeling I had several weeks ago about what I needed to be doing: the answer was simple, do anything, just do something.
In other news I began working on a couple of children’s stories that I hope to submit to a children’s book publisher for consideration. They follow a little girl named Laura. Maybe I will add more on this later.
